“Drivin the Dixie”

June 20th, 2009

Discover Historic Dixie Highway

New Format: Much like a “Scavenger Hunt”, participants

will follow individual instructions to points of interest within the

Dixie Highway communities, where event "Passports" will be validated. Also, secret passport location will earn bonus drawing tickets at the prize drawing in Momence.

New Destinations: Visit the oldest operating Business

along the Dixie Highway, view Sears Roebuck homes,

view historic murals in two locations, and take a trip around the lake.

New time: registration begins at 8:00 am.

Enjoy a cup of java and a donut with old friends in Blue Island

and leave at your leisure. We would like to release

10 to 15 cars every 15 minutes as early as possible.

New Experiences: This is a “take your time,

travel at your leisure” event. We want everyone to get to know the

Historic Dixie highway and the communities along the way.

Donation: Pre-Register $10:00      Day of event Registration $15.00
